In the fall of 1973 some pictures of the band with a crown where took by Mick Rock. Brian May explains about this shot: "There are the photos we hated! You take it for granted any time you see any hint of crowns or sceptres in our photographs that we were doing it under duress! We thought that kind of thing was crass. Mick said: 'What have you got to lose? You can always not approve them, and no one will ever see them!' The great thing about Mick was that he kept to his word, and nobody did see them. Until now! Ha-ha! With the benefit of thirty years' hindsight you can decide if we were right or wrong".
Mick Rock says about that: "There was plenty of bickering, disagreement and discussion, but that was part of the process. I never saw any gaging up or experienced any bad feeling. They bitched to each other's faces. They were genuinely fond of each other. They were a group, and they wanted to make that super-clear".
